What you must do to qualify

• Own the property (registered owner).
• Use a contractor with a valid City of Toronto business licence.
• A backwater valve needs a building permit and must pass City inspection.
• Apply within two years of finishing the work. Expanded amounts apply to work completed on or after November 12, 2025.
